Diary of Adam and Eve
Author(s):
Samuel Birnkrant
Adam and Eve discover each other in the Garden of Eden and record their experiences on stone tablets. (The first diaries!) Their dramatized courtship sparkles with wit and humor, poignancy and pathos. Eve tries to knock down a few stars to wear in her hair, discovers the beauty of fire, talks to her reflection in the pool, thinking it's her sister, pleads with Adam not to go swimming over Niagara Falls (or at least go over in a barrel). At last, however, when they leave the Garden, Adam and Eve discover their enduring love and need for each other. This highly original two-character play, drawn from "Mark Twain's Diaries of Adam and Eve," is a barrel of laughs, as rich in wisdom as in wit.
